Full-time salaried (Anticipated $50,000 - $60,000 depending on level of experience) 

Skymap is seeking Associate Level Designers to assist in building environments using existing pipelines and procedures. You will collaborate with project and level design leads to create memorable environments for the projects you work on.

Examples of work include working through a list of environments to build, iterating and polishing existing work, attending work review meetings and managing deadlines. This is a highly collaborative and creative role which requires great communication with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Follow a content creation pipeline which includes level planning, blockouts, base asset pass, clutter pass, polish and iteration.
• Playtest and tune level content as well as documenting the process with the appropriate tools. Provide feedback for level design to improve the content and make the game more fun.
• Brainstorm and design game features and mechanics that may further enhance your work. Some times your work may not be strictly level oriented as design is multi faceted.
• You may be responsible for some game asset optimization as part of your level passes, depending on the work and pipeline.
• Take part in weekly design meetings. Communicate issues and feedback with your team, your lead, and other disciplines throughout the week as issues arise and at weekly project meetings.
• Collaborate with team members and integrate with the level design team.
• Implement events with logic involving UE4/UE5 Blueprints.

Qualifications 

• Prior experience in game development or game engines (UE4, Unity, etc).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Pluses 

• Strong attention to detail.
• A passion for video game landscapes, environments and design.
• Familiarity with level design pipelines.
